Buildings

The buildings business unit is essentially the first arm of DMCI, since its projects started from building houses, up until the construction of several multi-storey buildings. During its humble beginnings, most of the projects that DMCI worked on are hospitals, offices, and residential buildings.

Now, the Buildings business unit has grown tremendously. The advanced methodologies continue to make DMCI’s capabilities on building construction to be truly world-class.

From two storey houses, DMCI can now build vertical structures that go as high as 65 storeys,

Concrete Products

DMCI’s foundations rooted from its expertise on cement and cement products. Our founder, Engr. David M. Consunji has long worked in cement products even before he founded the company. However, its formal establishment as a working business unit was in 1988. DMCI was the first to develop 42 Mpa or 6000 psi High-Strength Concrete in the Philippines in 1990 and developed and utilized “retarded mortar” in 1998. It was also the first company in the country to make use of flyask and S-1 manufactured sand in concrete production. It had also earlier on used pre-cast, pre-stressed and high-strength ready mixed concrete. To date, DMCI is one of the companies who proactively look for innovative ways in using cement and cement products in construction.

Steel Fabrication

D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) established its own structural steel fabrication plant which is located in Barangay Dacanlao, Calaca, Batangas. The plant stands on an 11.8 hectare of land, and has its own oxygen and acetylene area, sandblasting plant, trial assembly area and the main fabrication plant.   The Company initially invested Php 900 Mn (approximately USD$ 18 million) to construct this state-of-the-art facility, which is the first-ever steel fabrication plant ever put up in the country after nearly four decades (the last one was constructed in the 1980s)   The DMCI Steel Fabrication Plant can produce about 1500 tons of fabricated steel per month. As it was built to complement the group’s operations, the facility is capable of fabricating heavy steel sections for power plants, infrastructure and steel vertical structures.   Machine tool technology from globally-renowned suppliers, Peddinghaus Corp. and Voortman Steel Machinery were used. Steel is sourced mostly from South Korea, Japan and China.
