Celebrating 5 Million Safe Manhours at the 88 MLD Las Piñas Water Reclamation Facility Project
On July 31, 2026, D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI), as part of the DMCI-TWS-LEI (DTL) Consortium, proudly celebrated the achievement of 5 Million Safe Manhours Without a Lost Time Incident (MHNLTI) at the 88 MLD Las Piñas Water Reclamation Facility Project. This milestone reflects the unwavering commitment of the project team, client, consultants, subcontractors, and every worker in cultivating a strong culture of safety through discipline, teamwork, and shared accountability. Throughout the project, the team remained steadfast in complying with health and safety standards, achieving this milestone without any safety violations: a testament to the collective dedication of everyone on site.
The celebration featured messages from Noel R. Villanueva, DMCI Utilities & Plants Business Unit Head and 88 MLD Consortium Project Director, Alexis Madison Y. Datong, Head of Occupational Safety and Health Management of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI), and Arnold E. Zoleta, DMCI Senior Manager for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Operations. During the program, Mr. Datong expressed appreciation to the entire project team for their commitment to making safety a shared responsibility. The program also recognized outstanding workers and subcontractors whose efforts contributed to this remarkable achievement.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the presentation of a handcrafted wooden plaque by MWSI. Created using a soldering iron, the award carries a meaningful message: its unmarked back symbolizes the challenges encountered throughout the project, while its engraved front represents the achievement earned through perseverance, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to safety. The plaque serves as a reminder that every milestone is shaped by the challenges overcome along the way.
At DMCI, safety is more than a workplace requirement: it is a core value embedded in everything we do. As the project progresses, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of health and safety while delivering quality infrastructure that creates lasting value for our clients and communities.
